DocuDesk — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
DocuDesk (and DocuDesk Lite) is a free application for signing and editing PDF
documents, available for Windows and Android. This policy explains, in plain
language, exactly what the app does with your information.
The short version
DocuDesk does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything
happens on your device.
- No account and no sign-in.
- No data ever leaves your device — the app makes no network connections to
provide its features.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party data SDKs.
- Completely free: no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no
payments of any kind.
- Your documents, signatures, and settings stay on your device.
What the app works with (all on your device)
- PDF documents you open — processed locally to preview, edit, and sign.
They are never uploaded anywhere.
- Signatures you create — drawn, photographed, or typed. Stored in the
app’s private storage on your device so you can reuse them. Never
transmitted.
- App settings — such as your chosen interface language. Stored locally.
- Files you save — signed or edited copies are written only to the
location you choose (or the app’s own storage on mobile). Your original
files are never modified.
What the app does NOT do
- Does not collect personal information of any kind.
- Does not send your files, signatures, or any usage data over the internet.
- Does not use analytics or crash-reporting services.
- Does not display advertisements.
- Does not contain in-app purchases and does not process payments.
- Does not use cookies or web tracking.
On-device processing
Some features do work that other apps send to a server — DocuDesk does it
locally instead:
- Text recognition (OCR) for scanned documents runs entirely on your
device using a bundled, offline engine.
- Removing password protection from a PDF (so you can edit or sign it)
runs entirely on your device.
No document content is ever sent anywhere for these features.
Permissions
- Android — the app requests no sensitive or personal-data permissions and
has no internet access at all. It reads only the specific files you pick
through Android’s own document picker, and writes only where you choose to
save.
- Windows — standard desktop file access, limited to the files and folders
you open or save to.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone —
children included.
Third-party components
DocuDesk bundles open-source components (for example the PDF, OCR, and font
libraries listed in the app’s in-app Licenses / Attributions screen). These
run entirely on your device and do not collect or transmit any data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same
address with a new “Last updated” date.
